Report: Nokia is Big in India

A report from CyberMedia Research claims 30.7 percent of the 166 million phones sold in India during the first eleven months of 2011 came from Nokia. Samsung followed with 14.9 percent and Micromax with 5 percent. Nokia was the leader in both the feature and smartphone segments.

In November, around 15.47 million phones were shipped, including 14.4 million feature phones and 1.07 million smartphones. Nokia stayed on top with a 28 percent share. Samsung followed with 12 percent.

Multi-SIM handsets accounted for 54 percent of the total shipments in November. Nokia emerged as the leader in the multiple SIM market with a 19 percent share. Micromax followed with 7.1 percent.
