THE PORTAL OF NEWS RELEATED TO NOKIA

INDIA Will Get Lumia 900 Soon | NOKIA 4G In Near Months

There has always been high excitement about the first Nokia LTE smartphone – when it was unveiled at CES in January it won a host of awards – and the anticipation is building on an even bigger scale now with news that the device is heading to countries outside the US.
A global, DC-HSPA variant of the Nokia Lumia 900 will be made available in countries outside the US where LTE is not currently available. The LTE version will head to Canada as well as the US.
The DC-HSPA variant gives high speed data connection – 42Mbits download – and shares every other feature of the US variant such as the 4.3 inch ClearBlack AMOLED display, our highest capacity battery, Carl Zeiss optics and wide angle front facing camera.

There are now four compelling targets for your apps in the Nokia Lumia family. The newest Lumia, the Nokia Lumia 610, was a star in Barcelona too, taking home three awards. Last week Nokia announced that a range of Lumia smartphones will be made available in China, covering bother CDMA and WCDMA technologies. With each new device and new market, your opportunity to develop for Nokia Lumia grows.

Our own development teams continue to deliver exclusive, Lumia-only experiences such as Nokia Maps and Nokia Drive, and these are joined by a growing number of partner-developed apps from the likes of Red Bull, Michelin and voddler.

As the Nokia Lumia momentum continues to roll, we are seeing a dramatic increase in interest from developers to target these devices. Our developer day in Barcelona was filled to capacity, with interest from many many more people than we could possibly accommodate.

Since the Nokia Microsoft partnership was announced a year ago, the number of published apps in the Windows Phone Marketplace has grown from 7,000 to 65,000, and as our new devices begin to ship in more and more markets, the Windows Phone ecosystem continues to grow and thrive.

According to hindustan times : 4G technology holds the promise of internet speeds up to 10 times faster than typical third-generation networks. “We should be ready to launch 4G… in the later half of 2012,” telecom minister Kapil Sibal said late on Friday.

According to economic times : Reliance Industries (RIL) is gearing up to start rolling out 4G services in India as early as the beginning of next year and reach countrywide deployment by mid-2012, according to a report by The Economic Times.

The Mukesh Ambani-headed company has acquired Infotel, which won the pan-India spectrum for broadband wireless access in 2010, and plans to capitalise on this newfound asset with a rapid rollout. Sources within the company revealed to The Economic Times that it plans to provide 4G connectivity to 700 cities.
